Software & Equipment Recommendations
Below is a list of recommendations for DJ software & hardware based on what the teachers will be covering during the sessions of the course. We will speak more in depth about each of these during session 1 so it is not mandatory that you have these by the first session, but if you are ready to make your choice you can go ahead and buy any of these.
1. Rekordbox
Software: Free (advanced subscriptions not needed for Ecstatic Dance)
Description: Industry-standard software for clubs and festivals, designed primarily for Pioneer controllers.
Recommended Controller: Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 ($299)

2. Serato
Software: Free version available; $249 one-time fee or subscription for advanced features (e.g., mix recording).
Description: Highly versatile software that works with most controllers, giving you room to explore multiple styles as your DJ practice evolves.
Recommended Controller: Numark Mixtrack Pro FX ($229)

3. Traktor
Software: $149 if purchased separately
Description: Ideal for DJs who want to experiment with creative, performance-based mixing. Traktor offers powerful looping and effects features.
Recommended Controller: Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 ($339, includes Traktor Pro software)
